Learning the unique language of your body

Your body has its own language - shaped by your life experiences, fears and unspoken memories. Sometimes it whispers. Other times, it screams.

The body and the mind connect to create stories that become deeply woven in into each sensation. Sometimes holding such a tight grip, keeping us stuck, unable to move forward.

But every sensation carries a message beyond the story.

When we listen, we get to:
✨ Choose the way forward
✨ Respond instead of prepare for the worst
✨ Meet our own needs, rather than looking externally or relying on something or someone to ease the internal battle.

The body usually speaks when:
* We are out of alignment, and the story holds it in place
* We are reliving the past over and over again
* We feel stretched beyond our limits
* We have gone against our values
* We are ignoring our intuition
* And pushing to hard

Some stories are no longer valid or here to serve us. They are looking to be witnessed and acknowledged - so the emotional charge can be processed, integrated and released.

Listening to your body isn’t about control. It’s about building a relationship rooted in awareness and compassion.

When we truly listen, the labels fall away…
You are not “lazy.”
You are not “too much.”
You are not “out of control.”
You are learning a new way to be with yourself. Your body and your truth.

A Gentle Practice: Pause + Check-In

When a sensation or emotion arises, take a moment to connect with it. If it feels too overwhelming, that’s ok - come back to it when you feel more grounded and safe.

Use this practice as a journaling prompt or quiet reflection. Let your awareness guide you - without overthinking, analysing or trying to fix it. Simply notice what you notice.

Ask yourself:

1. What is this feeling in my body right now?
Describe it in as much detail as you can
(e.g. restriction, tension, heaviness, pressure)

2. Does this sensation mirror something happening in my life right now?
(e.g. “I feel restricted at home” or “I’m carrying a lot right now.”)

3. What do I need in this moment?
(e.g. “I need rest.” “I need to ask for help.” “I need to set a boundary.”)

This practice is simplified, and how deeply you go will depend on where you are in your journey and your capacity in the moment. So go slowly and gently.
Trust that whatever needs to surface will do so in its own time.
You can always return to it. In this moment, you’re creating awareness—and that matters.

And remember:
Not everything is yours to solve. Not everything is within your control.
In each moment - honour where you are and what you need.
