The ripple effect of choosing yourself

It’s an act of love - for you and everyone around you.

I often hear women say - and I’ve felt this too:
“Once they’re ok, then I’ll have time and energy for myself.”
“Right now, I need to make sure they’re alright first.”
“I can’t focus on me.”

But this belief often leads to exhaustion.
Burnout from always pouring without pausing to refill.
Resentment can quietly grow - and feel too shameful to admit.
Running on empty - mentally, emotionally, and physically.

Here’s the truth:
Taking time to rest, heal and reconnect with yourself helps everyone thrive.
This isn’t about putting others last - it’s about not abandoning yourself in the process.

There are so many gentle, beautiful ways this can unfold:
* A people-pleaser learns to say “no” without guilt - and feels safe in her own skin.
* A rested mother laughs more and snaps less.
* An anxious worker starts enjoying peaceful mornings.
* A partner who used to shut down now speaks from the heart.
* A chronic over-giver begins receiving - and feels worthy of it.
* Someone who used to escape, begins to feel again - slowly and safely.

Healing isn’t about getting it ‘right.’
It’s about returning to yourself, one brave, wobbly, curious choice at a time.
By prioritising your wellbeing, you model a new way of being.
Not by preaching, but by embodying peace - the kind that others feel.

This is how beliefs shift: not through words, but through presence, safety and witnessing.
So if you're waiting for a perfect moment. Let this be your quiet nudge:
* Start the thing.
* Book the session.
* Say yes to the pause.
* Say no without guilt.
* Try the gentle, unfamiliar way - even if it feels clunky.

Because even small steps create lasting ripples.
